Can I increase the character count for my students' responses?

By default, an activity response is limited to 500 characters.

If you wish, this limit can be increased from the 500 character limit to 3000.

This setting is toggled on a per activity basis. You may set this at the activity creation, or edit it later.

To enabled the "Extended Responses" setting on your activity:

1. Access the activity on which you wish to edit the character count. (Or when creating a new activity)
2. Scroll down the activity details until you see "Advanced options" towards the bottom of the page.  Click "Open".  This will reveal additional activity creation options.
3. Toggle the "Allow extended responses" slider to "Yes"
4. Continue to create/edit your activity.  Click the Save (or update) button at the bottom of the page when you are done.  Your activity will be displayed and your students will now be able to reply with 3000 characters to your activity provocation.

(Please note at this time, student comments are always limited to 500 characters and may not be changed)
